Sadly, another part of America has been battered with devastating floods.

Much like the Carolinas were hit hard with flash flooding in September of last year, South-central Texas was ravaged by flash flooding over the 4th of July weekend. Over 100 people have already been confirmed deceased, and Camp Mystic – a Christian girls camp located in Texas Hill Country – reported Monday that it is currently grieving the unfathomable loss of 27 campers and counselors.

While dozens of people are still unaccounted for, and the official toll likely won’t be known for weeks (if not months), the South-central Texas area currently needs all the help it can get to recover and pick up the pieces. One country music artist is doing his best to help contribute the relief efforts, and it’s all because the idea of a flood wiping away communities that are near and dear to so many hits so close to home.

West Virginia native Charles Wesley Godwin took to his social media accounts today to first offer up prayers to the Central Texas area, and any other place in the Lone Star State that felt the impact of the 4th of July flooding. Then, the “Family Ties” singer announced for the next 24 hours, 100% of the profits from his online merch store would be dedicated to Texas flood relief efforts:

“I’ve seen firsthand how flooding can impact communities, both in my home state of West Virginia and in places like Asheville, where I recorded ‘Family Ties’ and have played some of the most memorable shows of my career. My prayers are with the people of Central Texas.

And for the next 24 hours I’m donating 100% of the profits from my online merch store to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which supports relief and rebuilding efforts after the flood of July 4, 2025. You can visit the online merch store at the link in my bio. And to the fine folks of Texas, I’m looking forward to seeing you again in September. God bless.”

Chuck is a class act.

If you want to check out all that Charles Wesley Godwin has to offer on his merch store, you can click on this link. And if you were ever interested in getting yourself some CWG gear, now would be a great time to do so. Any money that comes in will go straight to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.

That fund is directly supporting the relief and rebuilding efforts from the flood that hit Texas just a number of days ago. The Community Foundation, which is a ” 501(c)(3) public charity serving the Texas Hill Country” will direct any donations to organizations that are vetted and specialize in providing rescue, relief, flood assistance and recovery efforts. The Fund states that they “will support the communities of Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort,” which were all hit the hardest during the devastating flooding.

Awesome to see organizations stepping in to help, and good on Charles Wesley Godwin for pointing people in the right direction and giving them an easy way to donate to the Texas flood relief efforts. The post Charles Wesley Godwin Announces Any Profit From His Merch Store In The Next 24 Hours Will Be Donated To Texas Flood Relief first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
