Berta set to seal 3 first team signings for under £30m as Gunners get going in market
Andrea Berta is wasting no time in shaping Arsenal’s squad for the 2025/26 campaign, with the club poised to complete three shrewd signings for a combined fee of less than £30million.

Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera, who turned 21 today, is viewed as a long-term investment but ready to contribute immediately. Arsenal have moved quickly to sign him, with a deal progressing at a ‘rapid rate‘.

The highly-rated Spaniard made 37 La Liga starts last season and is considered one of Europe’s most promising young defenders. His composure on the ball and ability to play in a high line fits perfectly with Mikel Arteta’s tactical approach. Likely an understudy to William Saliba, Mosquera can play right back and either side in central defence.

In goal, Kepa is set to arrive as an experienced back-up to David Raya. Kepa had been deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea after a successful loan at Bournemouth, and Arsenal have snapped him up for his modest £5million release clause. Kepa is a smart, cost-effective replacement for the departing Neto, whose loan deal expired.

Perhaps the most surprising of the three is Brentford captain Cristian Nørgaard. The 31-year-old Danish midfielder will bring vital depth and leadership to a midfield that has lost Jorginho and Thomas Partey this summer, with both players contracts expiring.

Nørgaard’s ball-winning ability and positional discipline could prove crucial in tight Premier League fixtures and offer a rotational option across multiple competitions.

With these deals nearing completion, Arsenal’s recruitment team, now led by Berta, are showing a clear intention to strengthen the squad intelligently. Rather than splash huge sums early, the Gunners are targeting value, experience, and youth potential – all while keeping powder dry for marquee attacking moves later in the window.

The trio of Cristhian Mosquera, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Cristian Nørgaard are set to bolster the first-team ranks without compromising the club’s financial flexibility.
