The forward takes a touch before getting a shot away, but the strike is well blocked by the visitors.
49' Aston Villa look to get something going down their right but a mix up between Cash and Bailey sees the ball run out for a goal kick to the hosts.

Saka puts Martinez under pressure and he gets a block in with the ball almost going into the back of the net.

This time he wins a header up against Konsa, and he flicks the ball on into space.

However, on this occasion, no Arsenal player was on his wavelength and Villa were able to clear.

Martinelli's cross is deflected towards goal and Martinez keeps the ball out. However, he can only push it out into the path of Jesus, who powers home from close range.

Gabriel gets his head to Saka's corner, but Villa get bodies in the way to make another crucial block.
25' Arsenal are all over the visitors at the moment. Villa are having to defend deep and pray that the hosts keep spurning their chances in front of goal.
23' WHAT A MISS! Aston Villa survive again!
The Brazilian crosses for Saka at the far post, but the England forward slices wide with the goal at his mercy.

Martinez was nowhere to be seen and Saka fired high and wide of the empty net.
21' Nothing comes of it but it is a lovely passage of passing from the home side as they work the ball from the back all the way to Odegaard in the Villa penalty area.
20' Lokonga tries to lift a ball behind the Villa defence down the right flank for White, but Digne does well to win possession and clear the danger.
17' Odegaard plays in Jesus who holds off his man and gets the shot away from the right side of the six-yard box. Martinez makes the save but it falls to Odegaard who has two attempts at it but they're both blocked. Desperate defending from the visitors.
14' Ramsey goes in hard with a big tackle and catches Martinelli with his follow through, he's a tad fortunate to escape with just a yellow card.
11' Gabriel stays up for the resulting corner and the ball falls to him kindly in the box but his shot is comfortably saved. Arsenal look on it.

Quick thinking from Arsenal as Odegaard clips a free kick over the top for Jesus.

The striker takes one touch before getting a shot away, but Martinez is there to make a smart block at his near post.
4' HALF CHANCE!

Villa loft the ball forward and win possession in and around the Arsenal penalty area.

They work the ball through to Buendia, who pokes the ball goalwards, but Ramsdale can safely watch the ball sail over the crossbar.

Digne lays down an early marker in this game with a hard challenge on Jesus.
