A pass from Lokonga finds Alexandre Lacazette inside the area but the attacker fires his effort high over the top of the bar.

37' Lokonga is a brave man to pick the ball up on the edge of his area, drive through three Liverpool bodies and then try to pick a pass just in his own half.
A late leg from Fabinho wins the Gunners a free-kick. It's risky, but it worked.
35' Arsenal take a leaf out of Liverpool's book to play themselves into trouble, with Lokonga's poor pass picked off. Alexander-Arnold hooks it across the area for Jota, whose centre is intercepted.

Jones hacks clear while the Irishman gets back to his line.

28' Martinelli is too quick for Van Dijk inside the Liverpool box, the first time Arsenal have been anywhere near it for a while, and Fabinho gets back to rescue him with a wonderful clean challenge before he can shoot.

Joel Matip converts from close range after a header from Fabinho but the linesman promptly puts his flag up for offside.
8' Odegaard threads the needle to release Smith Rowe and he in turn plays Martinelli down the left flank. He loops a cross towards the middle with the aid of a deflection, but Kelleher is fouled by Saka as he tries to gather the cross.

Lacazette caresses it up and over the wall, and his shot kisses the woodwork! It's a cracking effort from the Frenchman and inches away. He goes for the right technique and is so close to an opener.
3' An early Arsenal corner is sent in by Saka, right onto the six-yard line to put Kelleher under pressure. He's crowded out and Arsenal go close to turning it into something, but don't quite manage it.
