It's a poor corner from Robertson, but it's cleared back out to him on the left. He lays it off to Henderson, who curls a deep cross towards Van Dijk. He beats Ramsdale to it and Williams volleys a shot across goal, but White blocks it.

Into the first of five added minutes here, and there are big shouts from the home fans and players for a penalty as Jones goes down. Martinelli came in with the challenge, but there wasn't a lot in that and the referee waves the claims away.

It's another good cross into the box from Williams on the right and White's touch almost plays Arsenal into trouble. It hits Firmino on the arm as it bounces though and Ramsdale collects.

Williams' cross is blocked and the ball pinballs around inside the box. Minamino holds off Gabriel long enough to touch it to Henderson, but he can't slide it through to Firmino and White hooks it clear.

Jones clips a brilliant cross into the box and Gabriel misjudges it. Jota is behind him, but he wasn't expecting it, and it bounces off his head. Firmino is closest to it, but Ramsdale is quickly off his line to collect it.

Neco Williams drives at Tierney and stands a cross up into the Arsenal area, but Ramsdale commands his six-yard box well and gathers.

Saka tried to carry on, but after going down again, he's going to be taken off. Tavares is on to replace him.

Jones, who has been very lively since coming on, carries the ball down the left channel. His pass inside reaches Henderson, but he balloons a shot wildly over the target.

Saka takes a couple of tablets on the touchline and is quickly back on the field, with Tavares putting his training top back on returning to the bench.

Liverpool pushing for that breakthrough goal but things are becoming scrappy and desperate, as Alexander-Arnold is flagged for offside as he tries to latch onto a looping ball over the top.

Alexander-Arnold's pass is cut out by Lacazette who gives the away side a breather from the intense Liverpool press by driving up the pitch.

Martinelli makes the most of a challenge from Jones to earn Arsenal a pressure-relieving free-kick. As the seconds tick away, frustrations are beginning to surface on the pitch for Liverpool, as well as in the stands.

The Arsenal free-kick is whipped in from the right and it forces an acrobatic, if somewhat unnecessary, diving punch from Alisson.

Robertson seels Alexander-Arnold short and Tierney pounces onto the loose ball. It's switched out to the right for Arsenal again, but it's a poor cross from Saka that bounces harmlessly out near the far post.

Saka's shot is blocked by Matip, but Robertson's clearance goes straight to Lokonga. He switches it out to Tierney on the left, but instead of whipping it into the box, he touches it to Lacazette, only for Fabinho to nick it back.

A pass into Chambers is overhit and Minamino latches onto it before breaking on the counter. He drives down the left before whipping a cross into the box. It looks like it's creeping into the far corner.

Arsenal are finishing the half strong. Lacazette threads a pass in behind for Saka to chase. He eased off the ball but referee Michael Oliver pulls play back for a foul on Lacazette.

Saka's whips a hopeful ball into the Liverpool area and towards Lacazette, but the Gunners striker doesn't attack the ball and it sails harmlessly behind for a goal kick.

Alexander-Arnold's delivery is unusually poor and is cleared easily at the near post.

Matip once again drives at the heart of the Arsenal defence and he almost makes his way into the box before he is crowded out and Ramsdale collects.

Robertson plays a nice give and go with Henderson down the left but his cross is cleared as far as Minamino whose follow up delivery is blocked behind for a corner.

Arteta is trying to urge his players upfield, but Martinelli gives the ball away and Arsenal are on the back foot again. Minamino is driving through the middle, but he has no options up with him.

Liverpool continue to ask all the questions but Arsenal are putting in a valiant defensive display. Reaching half-time level is the first objective, and they are giving everything they can to get there.

Liverpool have set about putting their man advantage to good use. If it wasn't already before Xhaka's red, the screw is well and truly being turned now.

The Arsenal does its job with the resulting Alexander-Arnold free-kick, before the Liverpool full-back drags a follow-up shot harmlessly wide.

Milner then catches a loose arm from Lokonga following the Brazilian's long goal-kick but the Liverpool midfielder is soon back to his feet.

Henderson turns into trouble and Lacazette attempts to catch out Alisson with a speculative effort from distance but it flies over the bar.

Arsenal are starting to find their rhythm again now as Xhaka switches it out to Nketiah on the left. He cuts back before trying to curl it into Lacazette, but Van Dijk gets across to clear it.

Robertson whips another cross in from the left, but there's no one in the middle for Liverpool. Two Arsenal defenders miss it as it curls out to the right and Alexander-Arnold meets it, but his shot is blocked by Tierney.

Ramsdale almost with a huge error to give the home side an early lead!
The England keeper delayed on clearing his lines and eventually struck international teammate Henderson who was closing him down and fortunately only concedes a corner.

Ramsdale takes an age to clear the ball from the edge of the box and sees his clearance charged down by Henderson, who races into the area to gather the loose ball and wins Liverpool another corner.

But the Arsenal keeper safely collects the ball in his arms and replays show Firmino would have been offside had he made connection with the cross.

Robertson is awarded the space to deliver a low cross from the left that Firmino almost gets a flicked header onto to trouble Ramsdale.

Nerves at both ends of the field, with Gabriel misplaced and heavy pass back to Ramsdale travelling behind for another Liverpool corner, which are do clear after regrouping.

Cedric was briefly down following a late challenge when he delivered his cross but the full-back is soon back on his feet.

Arsenal lump a high ball into area which Alisson comes to collect. Nketiah contests for the ball, forcing a spillage from the Liverpool goalkeeper, but the Arsenal striker is penalised for leading with an elbow.
